The Communications Department coordinates production a number of publications, including more than 20 topical brochures and booklets on law related issues. These are for use by attorneys and the general public, and cover such topics as marriage, divorce, becoming an adult, senior citizens’ rights, intellectual property, bankruptcy, and free and low cost legal resources in Virginia.
The department produces Video Briefs, an informative series about the Virginia State Bar’s services and resources, and about legal topics of interest to the general public. The Virginia State Bar Family Law Section also produced the Spare the Child video, which is intended to help guide parents and families through the difficult and often overwhelming task of restructuring a family after a divorce.
