Virginia State Bar Boards and Committees Need You

As part of the Virginia State Bar’s continued commitment to self-governance, volunteers are needed to serve on Virginia State Bar boards and committees beginning in 2019.

The applicants chosen will oversee the Clients’ Protection Fund (CPF), which administers monetary awards to people who have suffered financial losses because of the dishonest conduct of Virginia lawyers, and the bar’s judicial candidate evaluation, interviewing candidates for judicial vacancies. The bar also seeks Bar Council members interested in serving on the executive committee.

Interested lawyers (and lay persons interested in the CPF vacancy) should send a brief statement of interest and a résumé by March 29, 2019, to Asha Holloman at, or mailed to: VSB Nominating Committee, c/o Asha Holloman, Virginia State Bar, 1111 East Main Street, Suite 700, Richmond, VA 23219-0026.

The Nominating Committee will refer interested lawyers to the full Bar Council for consideration at its June meeting. Appointments are made by Council.
