Ethics Approves LEO 1853 – The VSB Standing Committee on Legal Ethics has approved advisory Legal Ethics Opinion 1853, Sexual Relationship with a Client, and the opinion is now final.

LEO 1849 out for public comment – VSB’s Standing Committee on Legal Ethics is seeking public comment by March 1 on proposed advisory Legal Ethics Opinion 1849, the Ethical Issues of Lawyers Swearing Under Oath in Court to Debts Owed by the Client.

Supreme Court of Virginia amends Section I of the Rules for Integration of the Virginia State Bar, Part Six of the Rules of Court – Effective January 11.

Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia online – The Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia have been published on the judicial system website in order to provide the public with a continuously updated online version.

Access Committee awardsFebruary 12 is the deadline for nominations for two awards sponsored by the VSB Special Committee on Access to Legal Services: the Lewis F. Powell Jr. Pro Bono Award and the Oliver White Hill Law Student Pro Bono Award.
