Supreme Court of Virginia Extends Judicial Emergency Through November 1, 2020

On Monday, September 28, 2020, the Supreme Court of Virginia issued a unanimous eleventh order in response to the COVID-19 virus, extending the judicial emergency period until November 1, 2020, for all courts in the Commonwealth.

The order emphasizies that all clerks should accept filings submitted by fax or email, accept pleadings and other documents with electronic signatures, and that courts should continue to conduct as much business as possible by video, telephone, or other means that do not involve in-person contact so as to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
