Supreme Court of Virginia Extends Judicial Emergency Until May 17

On April 22, 2020, the Supreme Court of Virginia extended the Declaration of Judicial Emergency from April 26 until May 17, 2020. This marks the Court’s third order in response to the COVID-19 emergency.

The Court’s three orders collectively have marked a period of judicial emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic that has affected the judicial system from March 16 through May 17, 2020. A link to the Court’s unanimous Order, signed by Chief Justice Donald W. Lemons, may be found here.
