VSB Reopens Comment Period on Updated Amendments to Lawyer Discipline Rules
At its meeting on January 9, 2019, the Standing Committee on Lawyer Discipline proposed amendments to Paragraph 13 of Part 6, Section IV of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia, concerning the procedure for disciplining, suspending, and disbarring attorneys. The bar posted the proposed amendments for comments due in February and received one comment.
At its meeting March 6, 2019, the Standing Committee on Lawyer Discipline considered the comment received, as well as input from VSB members submitted informally, and amended the proposal as to Paragraph 13-15.B. Accordingly, the Standing Committee on Lawyer Discipline is resubmitting the proposal, as amended, for comments due April 8, 2019.
