Joel McClellan Elected to Bar Council

In a special election caused by the elevation of the Hon. Marissa D. Mitchell to the bench, personal injury attorney Joel R. McClellan, a partner at Marks & Harrison, has been elected to represent the 14th Judicial Circuit.

An integral aspect of the legal profession's self-regulation, Council is an 81-person body, consisting of 65 lawyers elected to represent the lawyers of 31 circuits throughout the Commonwealth, as well as nine at-large members appointed by the Supreme Court of Virginia, four conference chairs, and three officers.

McClellan serves on the Virginia Trial Lawyers Board of Governors and the Richmond Bar Association Board of Directors. He is on the Executive Committee for the Lewis F. Powell Inn of Court. He is a former chair of the Professional Development Conference for the Virginia State Bar and a frequent volunteer for Rule of Law Days.

McClellan will complete Judge Mitchell's term, and be eligible to run again for two additional, consecutive three-year terms
