Supreme Court of Virginia Amends COVID Order

On May 17, 2021, the Supreme Court of Virginia amended its May 3 Twenty-First Judicial Emergency Order regarding COVID-19 in light of new guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Governor Northam's executive order regarding face masks.

The new guidance no longer requires masks in most indoor settings, and this now applies to Virginia courts if the chief judge or presiding judge determines that this is safe and in keeping with the CDC guidelines and Governor Northam's Executive Order guidelines.

The amended order shall be in effect through May 30, 2021, and apply to all courts in the Commonwealth.

The Court's full Order may be found here.
