Supreme Court of Virginia Issues Fortieth Emergency Order Due to COVID

On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, the Supreme Court of Virginia issued a fortieth declaration of judicial emergency in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that is effective June 2, 2022.

The new Order continues the use of safety protocols at the discretion of chief and presiding judges, the tolling of the Speedy Trial Act, and the use of electronic signatures for pleadings orders and other documents.
