Court of Appeals of Virginia Issues Seventh COVID-19 Order

On February 1, 2022, the Court of Appeals of Virginia issued a seventh order regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, extending and modifying its sixth order of June 29, 2021. This order shall remain in effect until further order of the Court.

The Court of Appeals of Virginia stated that during the course of the pandemic, the Court modified its operating procedures including encouraging electronic filings, liberal extensions of time, in-person oral arguments when possible, and using all safety related protocols, and that as a result of these efforts, "...access to justice in the Court has not been disrupted during this time period."

The Court of Appeals also thanked the court staff, attorneys, and pro se litigants who have cooperated with the safety protocols during the pandemic.
