- Researching federal bankruptcy law relevant to cost obligations imposed on lawyers by bar organizations
- Researching and recommending policies relevant to the Virginia Freedom Information Act

- Participating in review/approval of Mandatory Continuing Legal Education courses
- Preparing legal memoranda
- Copyediting and cite checking executive director and deputy executive director written materials

Job Description
The executive director of the Virginia State Bar (VSB), the agency responsible for the professional regulation of Virginia’s 50,000+ lawyers, seeks to fill an unpaid research internship for summer 2023. The position will provide the successful candidate an opportunity to work with senior management at an organization with 95 employees and a chance to interact with judges, lawyers, and other professional staff throughout the Commonwealth. Eligibility
Applicants must be an actively enrolled 2L student from any ABA accredited law school, with preference for Virginia law school students or those intending to take the Virginia bar exam. The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check.
Pay and other Benefits
This is an unpaid internship. (An externship for academic credit will also be considered.)
