The Virginia State Bar is searching for a motivated and hard-working legal assistant to join the Office of Bar Counsel. The selected candidate will provide administrative and litigation support to two or more trial attorneys handling ethics complaints against lawyers. Duties include preparing, revising, and finalizing correspondence and pleadings; electronically filing exhibits with the Clerk of the Disciplinary System; maintaining electronic files, tickler systems, and dockets; scheduling hearings and meetings; making travel arrangements; and supporting special administrative projects. 

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a legal environment and knowledge of business, office management, and legal processes. Excellent organizational skills, superior writing, grammatical, and communication skills, and exceptional interpersonal skills are required. Candidate must also have strong computer skills and be comfortable working with the Microsoft Office Suite of programs, Adobe, and electronic filing systems. In addition, we are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, dependable, proactive, able to give information and assist using good judgment and discretion, and comfortable working under pressure with tight deadlines.
