No In-Person Event for 2020
Due to health concerns related to the spread of COVID-19, Governor Ralph Northam has directed state agencies to cancel in-person meetings and non-essential, work-related gatherings until June 10, 2020. Further, the Supreme Court of Virginia has declared a judicial emergency for all district and circuit courts until April 6, 2020. The Court of
Appeals has also issued an order outlining changes in response to the pandemic.
Therefore, the Virginia State Bar must cancel most meetings and events, with very limited exceptions. Accordingly, the Leroy R. Hassell Sr. Indigent Criminal Defense Seminar scheduled for Friday, May 1, 2020 in Richmond, Harrisonburg and Wytheville has been rescheduled as a live webcast seminar, on the same date and time.
