President’s Message - April 2018

Happy spring!  We are under two months away from the Annual Meeting, meaning I am closing in on the changeover of the Presidency.  I am proud of all the work that you do and am inspired by your leadership over the past year with your programs and in your local areas.  Here is what you need to know (in brief) for the next month:

Let Us Know If You Want to Continue in Your Leadership Post If you have not already done so, please confirm whether or not you would like to continue in your leadership post. Write in your name, update your contact information, and indicate whether you want to continue (or not) in your position.  If you want to lead another committee, you have the chance to indicate so here.  Deadline is June 15.

Don’t Forget Our Membership Blast Email – We have the ability to send one blast email monthly to our membership (all 10,000+!!!!!) advertising your event.  Please take advantage of this advertising benefit.  Send your event to Lauren Parrish at by the 25th of each month for blasting to the membership.

Featured Fridays - We have started #FeaturedFriday, where we feature one of our volunteers. Our social media will be graced by your presence but we need your help!  Fill out the attached form and send to Amanda Gregory and Christy Stierhoff. We keep it simple with name, photo, what your position is, and a fun fact. Thank you for your participation in advance!

Speaking of Which, Are You Following Us on Social Media? We have numerous other channels to follow our features. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. For example, did you know that we do #MemeMondays, that get anywhere from 500 to over 1000 views per meme.  If you have stuff to advertise, please send it to Amanda Gregory and Christy Stierhoff for publishing.

Stars of Month - April
Jazzirelle Sepulevda, Willie Winston, Janetta Brewer – Our Minority Prelaw Conference offers college students an insight into their potential futures as lawyers.  From the moment they sit for the LSAT to the first years on the job as a lawyer, the conference allows students to ask questions and hear from people on the inside.  We had a successful conference this April at George Mason in Arlington as I witnessed when I stopped by to welcome the attendees.  Congratulations!

Have a great May and I hope to see you in the future!  More updates next month.

All My Best-
~Chris Fortier
