Welcome to the website of the Young Lawyers Conference!

We’re proud to be the subset of the Virginia State Bar (Virginia’s mandatory bar for attorneys) dedicated to “young” lawyers. Our more than 10,000 members are Virginia attorneys under 36 years of age or who have been admitted as active, practicing members of their first bar for fewer than three years. We provide leadership opportunities, continuing education, and opportunities to serve the community and the profession. President's Message Chris Fortier, Esq.

Active and associate Virginia State Bar members in good standing, age 36 and under, and those admitted to their initial bar for fewer than three years, are automatically members of the Young Lawyers Conference. No additional dues are charged for membership in the YLC.  The YLC serves as a voice of Virginia's young lawyers in front of the Virginia State Bar and the American Bar Association.  Through our projects, young lawyers participate in governing the Virginia State Bar, serve the profession and the public, and enhance the public awareness of the legal profession.
