16th Annual Virginia Health Law Legislative Update – On May 22, 2014, the section  co-sponsored the annual Virginia Health Law Legislative Update with The Virginia Bar Association.  This half-day-long program attended by nearly 120 attorneys featured presentations by Secretary of Health and Human Resources William A. Hazel, Jr. and representatives from government and private advocacy organizations. The second half of the program was an ethics panel comprised of seasoned attorneys and moderated by Section vice-chair Jeremy Ball.

National Health Care Decisions Day – Since 2006, the Section has spearheaded an annual, statewide Health Care Decisions Day to raise public awareness for the need to plan ahead for health care decisions related to end of life care and for medical decision-making.  This year's event was on April 16, 2014.
