Administrative Law

K. Beth Clowers, Chair

The Administrative Law Section continues to serve the needs of Virginia lawyers by focusing on the interests and practices involving administrative law and regulated industries.

The Administrative Law Section currently has 652 members. The annual budget for the past fiscal year was $7,600 and has a remining balance of $5,750.00.

The Section planned to co-sponsor the 38th National Regulatory Conference, along with the Virginia State Corporation Commission and the College of William & Mary’s Marshall-Wythe School of Law, in May 2020.  The Section was also planning to hold a Brown Bag Luncheon CLE Program at the State Bar in April 2020.  However, in light of the ongoing public health emergency related to the spread of COVID-19, both events have been suspended.  The Section will meet again in August to assess the situation and determine whether one or both of these programs could be held, either in person or online, sometime in the Fall of 2020.

The leadership of the Administrative Law Section for the upcoming 2020 – 2021 year is James G. Ritter, Chair; Alisson P. Klaiber, Vice Chair; and Frederick D. Ochsenhirt, Secretary.  Charles Mitchell Burton, Jr., will continue as Newsletter Editor.  William T Reisinger, Lisa R. Crabtree, and Katherine C. Creef also joined the board.
