Effective November 18, 2021, the Virginia State Bar’s Standing Committee on
Legal Ethics has withdrawn 13 Legal Ethics Opinions related to advancing costs
and expenses because they have been superseded by amendments to Rule 1.8(e).
The committee also updated Committee Notes on six LEOs to note the application
of
Rule 1.8(e)to those opinions.
