How to Answer Basic Legal Questions You Received From Friends, Neighbors, Clients and Partners

Sponsored by the Senior Lawyers Conference

Probably every lawyer has been asked a question about basic law by friends, neighbors, good clients or even members of his law firm that he is unable to answer. Years ago when most lawyers were general practitioners, these questions were easier to answer because the lawyer had prior experience in that area. In today’s time of highly specialized lawyers, particularly in large firms, most lawyers do not know the answers to most of the questions that the general public thinks they should know.

This program is designed to cover approximately fifty questions and answers, most of which have been asked of one of the panel members or a member of their firms. It will cover such things as insurance law, automobile accidents, traffic charges, family law, wills, real estate, and criminal law. Since it is anticipated that there will not be sufficient time to cover all of the questions, materials which include all questions and answers will be provided at the end of the program.

Panel:

James F. Andrews – Johnson, Andrews, Baskervill & Lupold PC, Petersburg

Frank O. Brown – Frank O. Brown, Jr., PC, Richmond.

Carrollyn Charles Cox – Cox and Cox, Virginia Beach.

Andrew M. Sacks – Sacks & Sacks PC, Norfolk.

Moderator:
John M. Oakey, Jr. – McGuireWoods LLP, Richmond.

Don’t miss the lively interaction between this panel of seasoned practitioners and the audience on the most frequently asked questions raised in social settings. Come see if you know the answers!
