2016-17 VSB President
Michael W. Robinson, of Fairfax, will be sworn in as the 78th president of the Virginia State Bar on June 17, 2016, during the VSB’s Annual Meeting in Virginia Beach.
Robinson, a partner with Venable LLC, previously served as a representative on the VSB Council from the 19th Circuit; as chair of the Special Committee on Bench-Bar Relations; and as a faculty member of the Harry L. Carrico Course on Professionalism. He currently serves as chair of the Standing Committee on Legal Ethics, and as a member of the Executive Committee, the Budget and Finance Committee, and the Study Committee on the Future of Law Practice.
He also is a member of the Fairfax County Bar Association.
Robinson is a graduate of George Mason University, where he received a B.A. in philosophy. His law degree is also from George Mason University.
His practice focuses on commercial disputes, business torts, and the protection of intellectual property rights.
He is married to Courtney R. Robinson and has five children.
