Everything you love about the Annual Meeting with a whole new twist.

This year’s Annual Meeting offers a great opportunity to spend leisure time with your family, stay abreast of current legal and professional issues, and socialize with your colleagues, all in the relaxed and informal setting of Virginia Beach. As you will see from the schedule, we are planning a variety of special activities and an exciting lineup of diverse CLE offerings.

The CLE schedule has been slightly redesigned to present five Showcase-quality programs. Our sections and conferences will collaborate with related organizations to present these two-hour programs on Friday and Saturday. Each program will feature a high-profile, dynamic topic with engaging speakers who will appeal to all members of the bar.

The Conference of Local Bar Associations, the Diversity Conference, the Senior Lawyers Conference, and the Young Lawyers Conference will each sponsor special events and award presentations during the meeting. On Saturday morning, the Senior Lawyers Conference will honor this year’s 50-Year Award recipients.

On Friday, all section and conference members will gather for a joint Section & Conference Luncheon. This will be a great opportunity to reconnect with your colleagues over a casual lunch and catch up on section and conference business. Be sure to register.

Edward L. Weiner, of Fairfax, will be sworn in as the 77th President of the Virginia State Bar at the Annual Banquet on Friday evening. Following the Banquet, join the party at the Hilton Oceanfront, featuring Doc Scantlin and His Imperial Palms Orchestra, and other special events.

The weekend will include an array of athletic activities, including golf, the 5k run, tennis, volleyball, and early morning yoga on the beach. Also, be sure to attend the popular Family Bingo on Friday afternoon, and register your children for the sandcastle contest on Saturday morning. While our Lawyers Expo will be in hiatus this year, there will be plenty of great prizes donated by our raffle sponsors. Don’t miss the raffle giveaways at the Saturday closing reception.

The City of Virginia Beach will provide private, complimentary shuttle service between hotels. You also can stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy the annual art show that will be right in front of some of our hotels. Our Annual Meeting mobile app will be available soon to keep you up-to-date on the schedule and location of all activities.
