Student Writing Competition

2010 Writing Competition.   The Intellectual Property Section of the Virginia State Bar is pleased to announce its 2010 Intellectual Property Law Student Writing Competition.  Students attending Virginia law schools or Virginia residents attending law school outside Virginia are invited to submit articles relating to intellectual property law or the practice of intellectual property law.  All entries must be received by May 29, 2010.  The winner receives a $4,000 cash prize and publication of the paper on the section's website.  Complete details are available here.

2009 Writing Competition Winner. The Board of Governors of the Intellectual Property Section of the Virginia State Bar is pleased to announce Jacob A. Schroeder as the winner of the 2009 Intellectual Property Law Student Writing Competition for his submission entitled "Anti-circumvention of Competition: Avoiding Conflict Between DMCA and Antitrust." Schroeder, a 2009 graduate of The George Washington University Law School, will be presented with the $4,000 cash prize at the upcoming Intellectual Property Fall CLE Weekend Seminar, to be held on October 2-3 at the Ommi Richmond Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. We extend our congratulations to Mr. Schroeder, as well as to the many talented law students whose submissions helped make this year's competition a success.  Mr. Schroeder's paper is available here.
