Mentoring Program
Unlike many attorneys specializing in only one or a few related fields of practice, you have the knowledge and experience to provide legal advice to your clients on most any given subject.
As a member of the General Practice Section of the Virginia State Bar, you probably represent clients on a wide range of issues covering the broad spectrum of legal practice. Unlike many attorneys specializing in only one or a few related fields of practice, you have the knowledge and experience to provide legal advice to your clients on most any given subject. Although you paid many dues and puting innumerable hours to gain this broad expertise, please recall your first attempts after passing the Virginia State Bar Examination to leave behind the theoretical world of law school and enter into the actual practice of law in the Commonwealth. For many if not most of us, this initial experience of practicing law was extremely frightening because law school cannot teach you how to actually practice law.
Much of the skill in our profession only comes from practical experience. Nevertheless, many of us had an attorney willing to provide guidance, advice and even constructive criticism in order to facilitate our transformation
from a neophyte lawyer merely possessing a bar card to an actual attorney capable of zealously representing his or her clients. The General Practice Section would like to assist its younger members in becoming affective advocates for their clients and practitioners before the bench. Therefore, if you have at least 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney and are in good standing with the Virginia State Bar, the Board of Governors of the General Practice Section would ask that you to consider volunteering your valuable time to serve as mentors. If you would consider this opportunity for service as a mentor, I would ask you to contact me, Charles E. Adams, Esquire, in writing, at The Law Office of Zwerdling Oppleman & Adams, The Corporate Centre, 5020 Monument Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23230.
If you have any additional questions about the program, please do not hesitate to contact me at your convenience. I thank you in advance for your time and cooperation in this regard.
