First Day in Practice Seminar
The section’s headline production was the annual First Day in Practice Seminar, presented on October 31, 2006, in co-sponsorship with the Young Lawyers Conference. Karen A. Gould, President of the Virginia State Bar presented opening remarks in addition to Maya M. Eckstein, President of the Young Lawyers Conference, and Judy L. August, 2004-05 Chair, General Practice Section. The seminar was made available to all new bar admittees in addition to all attorneys at a minimal cost. The faculty was outstanding and was composed of the following pre-eminent speakers: The Honorable James W. Benton, Jr., Court of Appeals of Virginia, The Honorable Dennis W.
