Weekend Retreat at Wintergreen Resort

Register Now:

Register today for the premier advanced business law CLE and Virginia lawyer networking event of 2015.

Venue: Wintergreen Resort.

Representing a promising company from startup to sale demands a lot from a business lawyer.  Corporate counsel must advise a growing business with the future in mind and develop a roadmap for navigating opportunities and unexpected legal challenges.  It’s all here:  flexible entity structures, intellectual property, employment and equity compensation considerations to address in the early stage, technology licensing, antitrust and cyber law traps for the unwary, taking products and services to domestic and international markets, raising capital, resolving business disputes along the way, and surviving and thriving through the sale process.  And, none other than Tom Spahn live on ethics for the business lawyer. 8 hours of CLE (2 hours ethics).

Our faculty of seasoned experts (including large and small firm corporate, venture capital, M&A, international, intellectual property, employment and equity compensation practitioners and in-house counsel) will guide us through the life, opportunities and challenges of a hypothetical client,  “Life Cycle Solutions, LLC,” in a predominately panel format intended to maximize interaction among faculty and attendees and provide practical solutions to the myriad of legal issues likely to be encountered along the way.  It will be challenging and fun to squeeze 5 years into 2 days, so the faculty will focus on the newest and most practical legal solutions for the growing business, while the written materials will supplement the presentations with more nuts and bolts.

Beyond getting the most up to date overview of the legal issues facing growing companies, the conference is intended to give attendees a unique opportunity to get reacquainted with old friends and referral sources and make some new ones.  There will be an opening reception and networking dinner on Friday night, breakfast on Saturday and lunch and networking at the conclusion on Saturday.  Spouses and guests are encouraged to attend all social functions for a small surcharge. And act early to book extra nights at the discounted conference rate.
