VIRGINIA UPL OPINION 64
Appearance at Term Day by Foreign Attorney
It is not the unauthorized practice of law for an out-of-state lawyer or non-lawyer to appear before a court solely to provide dates for the scheduling of a trial. The appearance for this limited purpose should be brought to the courtís attention in the event that any other issue is raised. The committee recognized that local court rules might prohibit such an appearance. [UPC1-2]
