Amendments to Paragraph 10 and Part 6, § II, Rule 7.2(b) regarding the sun-setting of the VSB’s Standing Committee on Lawyer Advertising and Solicitation (Approved by the Supreme Court of Virginia January 22, 2010. Effective immediately.)
Amendments to Rules 1.9 and 1.11 of the Rules of Professional Conduct, which address the special conflicts of interest for former and current government officers and employees (Approved by the Supreme Court of Virginia November 2, 2009. Effective January 4, 2010.)
Amendment to Rule 1.17 of the Rules of Professional Conduct, which permits a lawyer to sell or purchase a law practice partially or in its entirety, but requires the seller to cease practicing law in the geographic area in which the practice has been conducted (Approved by the Supreme Court of Virginia November 2, 2009.
