Virginia Lawyer and Virginia Lawyer Register are the official publications of the Virginia State Bar and are distributed to lawyers, judges, general subscribers, law libraries, other state bar associations, and the media. Total circulation is about 43,000. Virginia Lawyer is published in February, April, June/July, October, and December. Each issue contains substantive articles on legal subjects, informational pieces about the bar and bar activities, letters to the editor, professional notices, classified ads, and advertisements. Virginia Lawyer Register is published in January, March, May, August/September, and November. Each issue features rule changes, ethics opinions, and disciplinary rulings.

A one-year subscription to Virginia Lawyer and Virginia Lawyer Register is $18. A subscription consists of five alternating issues of each magazine, for a total of 10 issues. Checks should be made payable to the Virginia State Bar.
