VSB Young Lawyers Conference Wins Two First Places at ABA Awards

The Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference won two first place awards at the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division 2017 Awards of Achievement program in New York City.

The YLC received first place honors in the Public Service Project category for its partnership with Hogar Immigrant Services’ Naturalization Clinics, and first place in the Diversity category for the Oliver Hill/Samuel Tucker Pre-Law Institute. The YLC created the Oliver Hill/Samuel Tucker Pre-Law Institute in 2001 in an effort to increase diversity in the legal profession. Named for legendary civil rights attorneys Oliver Hill and Samuel Tucker, the Institute reaches future lawyers at an early age to provide them with exposure and opportunity to explore the legal profession, all at no cost to the participants. The VSB Diversity Conference recently became a co-sponsor of the Institute.
