VWAA Richmond Chapter Hosts Law Day Activities at University of Richmond School of Law
The Richmond Chapter of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association (VWAA) will sponsor a 1-hour ethics continuing legal education program, "Hollywood vs. Reality," at the University of Richmond School of Law on Friday, May 1, 4–5 p.m.
The program is co-presented by Darrel Tillar Mason, a local practitioner, and Joyce Manna Janto, a faculty member at the law school.
At the conclusion of the seminar, Virginia State Bar President Karen A. Gould, VWAA President-elect Chandra D. Lantz, and U of R Associate Dean for Career Services M. Denise Carl will announce the recipient of the Richmond Chapter's first summer public service fellowship award. The award presentation will be followed by a wine and cheese reception for participants.
The fellowship competition was created to encourage law students to consider public service as a full-time career choice and to emphasize that some form of public service should be a lifelong commitment for all lawyers.
Cost for the CLE and reception is $15 for VWAA members, $25 for non-members. Law students and law faculty are invited as guests of the Richmond Chapter.
