Rule 4.2 amendment – Supreme Court of Virginia approved an amendment to Comment 5 of Rule 4.2 clarifying that a commonwealth’s attorney can advise a law enforcement officer regarding the legality of an interrogation or the legality of other investigative conduct under certain circumstances.
Nominations sought for 2011-12 vacancies – The Standing Committee on Lawyer Discipline calls for nominations for district committee vacancies to be filled by Council in June 2011. Please review qualifications for eligibility.
Stay on top of criminal law developments and issues – The Forty-First Annual Criminal Law Seminar, sponsored by the VSB Criminal Law Section and Virginia CLE, is scheduled for February 4 in Charlottesville and February 11 in Williamsburg. Approved 6 MCLE credits (1 ethics). Register online now.
Spare the Child video available – Spare the Child guides parents and families through the difficult and often overwhelming task of restructuring a family. It is a project of the VSB Family Law Section through a generous grant from the Virginia Law Foundation.
