Comments Sought on Amendments to Three Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia

The Committee on Lawyer Discipline is seeking public comment on proposed amendments to three Rules of the Supreme Court of Virginia.

Part Six, Section IV, Paragraph 13-4.C would clarify the address of record of district committee members. It would require district committee members to provide either a home or business address that is physically located in the district served.

Part Six, Section IV, Paragraph 13-4.E would exempt ex-officio members of the council from having to resign from district committees.

Part Six, Section IV, Paragraph 13-25 would require that petitions for reinstatement be filed with the clerk of the disciplinary system rather than with the clerk of the Supreme Court of Virginia.

Comments should be submitted in writing to Karen A. Gould, Executive Director, Virginia State Bar, 1111 E. Main Street, Suite 700, Richmond, VA 23219-3565 or publiccomment@vsb.org, no later than the end of the business day on October 30, 2014.
