National Celebrate Pro Bono Week is October 23–29, 2011
Media reports tell us that fairness and access to justice are critical concerns of increasing numbers of low- and middle-income Americans. Virginia attorneys practicing in the metro Richmond area and others traveling to Richmond can join colleagues in learning more about unmet legal needs while celebrating Pro Bono Week October 23–29. The international celebration of Pro Bono is sponsored in the United States at the national level by Pro Bono Net and the American Bar Association. Activities in Virginia range from the October 5, 2011, CLE on Landlord-Tenant Law that was held at the University of Virginia Law School to a special session about Legal Nonprofits Maximizing Board Interactions on the morning of October 27 in Virginia Beach during the Statewide Legal Aid Conference.
Richmond will be the site of several events related to the national celebration including:
