Joseph A. Condo Honored for Lifetime Achievement in Family Law
Joseph A. Condo, one of the preeminent family law practitioners in Virginia, has been named the 2017 recipient of the Betty A. Thompson Lifetime Achievement Award by the Virginia State Bar’s Family Law Section.
Condo’s commitment to the legal profession in Virginia is unsurpassed. He is a former president of the Virginia State Bar and the Fairfax Bar Association. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers, the American College of Trial Lawyers, the Virginia Law Foundation, and the American Bar Foundation. Condo is a family law principal attorney at Offit Kurman.
In his letter nominating Condo for the award, Senior Justice Lawrence L. Koontz Jr. of the Supreme Court of Virginia noted that Condo has lectured for Virginia Continuing Legal Education, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the Northern Virginia Judicial Conference, the Virginia State Judicial Conference, and the American Bar Association Bar Leadership Institute.
Sanford K. Ain, a partner at Ain & Bank and frequent adversary of Condo’s, wrote that Condo “is a lawyer who represents the highest level of professionalism, integrity, and devotion to both the law and his clients. His service to the Virginia State Bar, the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association and our local bars is second to none.”
David E. Roop Jr., of Roop Law, wrote that, “Joe Condo is a uniquely talented family lawyer, who has spent the vast majority of his life trying to improve the lot of his clients, the families of Virginia, and the family law bar.”
Another advocate, Eva N. Juncker of Zavos Juncker Law Group, wrote that, “In my almost eight years of practice with Joe, I was constantly amazed by his command of the law, his rapport with our colleagues, his ability to teach by example, and by his dedication to maintaining the integrity of our practice while at the same time balancing his family life.”
The award recognizes and honors an individual who has made a substantial contribution to the practice and administration of family law in Virginia. It will be presented at the Annual Family Law Seminar April 20 at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond.Updated: Mar 10, 2017
