“Virginia is for good lawyers” project in national spotlight – VSB President Jon D. Huddleston will unveil his “Virginia is for good lawyers” project to national audiences in February at the National Conference of Bar Presidents Midyear Meeting and in March at the ABA’s Bar Leadership Institute.
Professional Guidelines to be published online in searchable format – The searchable HTML format will allow users to quickly access sections without flipping through pages or waiting for PDFs to download. Printed copies were not mailed, but are available upon request.
2010 Law in Society Contest – Sponsored by the VSB's Litigation Section, this high school scholarship essay competition questions school control over students' online communications. This year's hypothetical, entry form, and rules are online. Deadline is February 8, 2010.
Stay on top of criminal law developments and issues – The Fortieth Annual Criminal Law Seminar, sponsored by the VSB Criminal Law Section and Virginia CLE, is scheduled for February 5 in Charlottesville and February 12 in Williamsburg. Approved 6 MCLE credits (1 ethics). Register online now.
Proposed MCLE regulation changes – The MCLE Board is proposing a minimum number of hours that must be obtained through live programming. Comments due by December 30.
