There are twenty sections of the Virginia State Bar. Each is a separate group devoted to improving the practice of law in a particular substantive area or specialty practice. Section membership is open to all members in good standing of the Virginia State Bar. Many sections also have law student and associate memberships. The sections are supported by dues which range from $10 to $35.

The public Web site of the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia is designed to inform members of the public and the bar of procedures observed by the Court, provide assistance with those procedures and indicate the status of cases maintained by the Office of the Clerk.

This Web site contains links to all four divisions of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia as well as access to case records, local bankruptcy rules, forms, fee schedules, court calendars, and opinions issued by judges of the court. The General Information page links to many sources of information about the federal courts and bankruptcy law. The CM/ECF page www.vaeb.uscourts.gov/ecfnew/ecf.htm provides all the material necessary to file and process bankruptcy cases electronically.
