The Virginia State Bar, an administrative agency of the Supreme Court of Virginia, has an immediate opening for an individual to lead the transformation of our legacy application into a more modern web application using, C#, MVC, and Web API methodologies. The full stack developer will facilitate discussions with business users to determine and document requirements; design, code and deploy web applications; support legacy applications and reporting; and extract and document business logic from legacy applications. As the assistant director of a small cross-functional IT team, this position will act for the director in their absence; assist in the review of requests for new technology; and participate in project meetings, strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development as needed.  

The successful candidate keeps current on technology trends, values learning and continuous improvement, takes initiative, and enjoys accountability for meeting business requirements and deadlines in a collaborative work environment. He/she will have a full stack web application development experience with our existing technologies (i.e. VB.NET and SQL Server) and our future technologies (i.e. C#, Web API, responsive design, and JavaScript).  He/she will demonstrate excellent problem solving; project management; leadership; verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; and the ability to work both independently and as a team player. Bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field a plus. Selected candidate must pass criminal and credit background check.
