********
In the wake of the recent Statewide Emergencies declared by Governor McDonnell, the VSB and VBA are mobilizing volunteer attorneys to assist those victims of the tornados and severe weather in the Southern and Southwest regions of Virginia.
If you would like to help out in this badly needed effort, a free one-hour telephone CLE will be offered by Virginia CLE on April 21, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. This CLE is approved for one (1) credit hour.
To register, please go online to http://www.vacle.org/php-bin/ecomm4/products.php?product_id=3028 where you will be directed to information on how to register and download the CLE materials and forms.
Currently, we expect most referrals to be made by telephone and most legal assistance will be provided by telephone or email. Once you have completed the training, you will be added to the rolls of volunteers able to provide legal assistance to victims of disasters.
On behalf of the VSB and VBA, thank you in advance for your help in this effort. Please do not hesitate to distribute this email and volunteer information to friends or colleagues who can assist as well.
