Annual Meeting CLE Program
In cooperation with the Corporate Counsel Section and International Section, the Antitrust, Franchise, and Trade Regulation Section sponsored a well-attended continuing legal education program, “Strategies for Successful Compliance Programs: Pitfalls and Traps for the Unwary.” The program was presented by: John M. Huddle, founder of The Global Law Group; Charles B. Scher, senior counsel for Dominion Resources Services Inc.; and J. Brent Justus, a partner in the Richmond office of McGuireWoods LLP.
The program addressed the benefits, key elements, and common pitfalls of implementing an effective compliance program in the context of important issues of labor and employment, antitrust, and international law.
There was insufficient attendance to hold elections at the section’s annual membership meeting on June 15, 2012. For fiscal 2013, the officers will be: Robert W. Loftin, chair; Daniel A. Blumenthal, vice chair. The secretary position is currently vacant. J. Brent Justus is the immediate past chair.
