Joint Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee

The purpose of the Joint ADR Committee is to bring together members of the Virginia Bar Association (VBA) and the Virginia State Bar (VSB) who have a special interest in alternative dispute resolution. The Committee's activities include addressing issues of professional ethics and standards of practice; educating lawyers and ADR professionals on current developments and opportunities in the field through CLE programs, the Virginia ADR newsletter, and the website; keeping abreast of legislation and public policy; and developing creative uses of ADR processes and strategies to provide better service to clients. It is active in all areas of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation, arbitration, facilitation, neutral case evaluation, negotiation, conciliation, settlement conferences, restorative justice and collaborative law.
