Joint Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee

The Joint ADR Committee brings together members of the Virginia Bar Association and the Virginia State Bar who have a special interest in alternative dispute resolution including mediation, arbitration, facilitation, neutral case evaluation, negotiation, conciliation, settlement conferences, restorative justice, and collaborative law.  The committee

  • addresses issues of professional ethics and standards of practice;

  • educates lawyers and ADR professionals on current developments and opportunities through CLE programs, the Virginia ADR newsletter, and the website;
  • stays abreast and notifies members of legislation and public policy; and
  • develops creative uses of ADR processes and strategies to provide better service to clients.

Please go to the committee website to learn how to join, obtain more detailed information, or find out how to become more involved.
