The 2000-2001 Virginia State Bar year is moving quickly and I wanted to take this opportunity
to make you aware of the activities that the Section has underway.
As this year's editor of Health Law News, Tom Brown has worked hard to organize this edition.
This continues our goal of providing timely articles that will be of keen interest to our Section's
diverse membership. With the decision to publish the Health Law News electronically we have
decreased the cost of this endeavor, hopefully increased its availability and saved a few trees as well.
If you have an idea for an article that you believe would be of interest, do our Section a favor and e-mail
your ideas to Tom at tbrown@mcguirewoods.com. This is an
excellent way to participate in the Section's work.
We are in the process of updating the Health Law Section website and exploring ways to increase its functionality.
Please use the website and e-mail all suggestions for additions or improvements to the site to me at
bruce_stockburger@gentrylocke.com.
As Vice Chairman, Jim Daniel is in the process of organizing our Section's program for the Annual VSB
meeting at Virginia Beach in June. More details on that development will appear in the next edition of
Health Law News.
Finally, we are exploring the possibility of sponsoring a full day Health Law CLE program and/or
the publication of a Health Law Handbook through the VSB CLE organization. We will communicate with all
of you as these plans develop.
