Solving the difficult problems that face every family law attorney is the focus of the 17th Annual Family Law Seminar.
Virginia CLE and the Virginia State Bar Family Law Section are sponsoring the seminar, which will take place in four locations around the state, and will be replayed by video in 14 additional locations. The seminar, to be held in Northern Virginia, Roanoke, Norfolk and Richmond, is November 12 through 20.
The Clerk's Office of the Court of Appeals of Virginia will be covering the appellate process, along with attorneys who practice before the court. Additionally, a panel of local judges and experienced family law attorneys will help answer six difficult questions that family law practitioners encounter regularly: How do you provide counsel to a client who wants their non-violent spouse out of the home? How do you advise clients on withdrawing funds from bank accounts? What about dealing with relocation and handling debt during separation? How should you decide when to use tape and video recording? What is the procedure for advising the payor who wants to retire?
The program will also cover an in-depth update on the law, as well as an overview of the Virginia State Bar disciplinary process and analysis of current legal ethics issues.
To register for the seminar, contact Virginia CLE at 800-979-8253, or on the Internet at www.vacle.org.
