Appearance
in General District Court by Non-lawyer.
A
non-lawyer is paid a fixed weekly salary by each
of several employers to make credit checks, handle
repossessions and attempt to collect deficiency
judgments. Additionally, the non-lawyer is employed
by the several employers to sell their products.
It is the committees opinion that the circumstances
present a bona fide employer-employee relationship
and it is, therefore, not the unauthorized practice
of law for the non-lawyer to move for judgment
in general district court on behalf of the several
employers. [See Rule of Court 3D:5; UPR1-101(B)]
