McMahon’s privilege to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia for 60 days for violating professional rules that govern candor toward the tribunal and misconduct. By attempting to provide legal services in Virginia and by directing his conduct toward a Virginia tribunal, McMahon subjected himself to the disciplinary authority of Virginia, and Virginia Rules of Professional Conduct apply pursuant to Rule 8.5.

The suspension is effective September 12, 2018. The three-judge panel found that Tripp violated professional rules governing competence, diligence, communication, fees, conflict of interest (prohibited transactions), client with impairment, safekeeping of property, and fairness to opposing party and counsel. VSB Docket No. 17-022-106582 was dismissed with prejudice, as set forth in the agreed disposition.
