On June 24, 2013, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board revoked Seung Oh Kang’s license to practice law. In consenting to the revocation, Ms. Kang admitted that the charges against her are true and that she could not successfully defend against them. The board, on June 7, 2013, suspended Ms. Kang’s license to practice law based on her conviction of a crime by the U.S. District Court of Maryland.

On June 17, 2013, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board revoked Charles Edward Ayers Jr.’s license to practice law for failing to comply with terms imposed by the board in its November 20, 2001, order imposing a public reprimand with terms. The alternate sanction in that matter was revocation. In consenting to the revocation, Mr. Ayers admits that the charges against him are true.

This was an agreed disposition of misconduct charges.

On May 28, 2013, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board suspended Scott Browning Gilly’s license to practice law for one year based on the same action by the Committee on Grievances for the United States District Court, Southern District of New York. The VSB Disciplinary Board found that Gilly violated professional rules that govern candor toward the tribunal, fairness to opposing party and counsel, truthfulness in statements to others, responsibilities of a partner or supervisory lawyer, and misconduct. This was an agreed disposition of misconduct charges.

Effective June 7, 2013, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board suspended Seung Oh Kang’s license to practice law based on her conviction of a crime by the U.S. District Court of Maryland. The board ordered him to appear on June 28, 2013, to show cause why an eighteen-month suspension that was imposed by the District of Columbia Court of Appeals should not be imposed in Virginia.

The board ordered her to appear on April 26, 2013, to show cause why the same discipline that was imposed by the United States District Court in Maryland should not be imposed in Virginia.

*The Disciplinary Board continued the hearing until May 17, 2013.

On January 2, 2012, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board revoked Gregory Dean Foster’s license to practice law for violating professional rules that govern safekeeping property, responsibility regarding nonlawyer assistants, misconduct, and the Consumer Real Estate Settlement Protection Act. In consenting to the revocation, Foster admitted that the charges against him are true.

Effective January 29, 2013, the Virginia State Bar summarily suspended Barry Maurice Johnson’s license to practice law based on his disbarment by the Court of Appeals of Maryland. Johnson was ordered to appear before the board on February 15, 2013, to show cause why the same discipline that was imposed in Maryland should not be imposed in Virginia.

*On February 15, 2013, the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board revoked Barry Maurice Johnson’s license to practice law based on his disbarment by consent by the Court of Appeals of Maryland.
